Is there life after Death?

Is that something you’ve thought about? Do you think there is life after death or is it something you hope is true but have no real way of checking it out?

Your culture
I think it depends on the culture and religion you were brought up in. If your religion or spiritual path believes in reincarnation then life after death really won’t bother you too much. If you are like me and were brought up in a Christian religion then we only have our hopes, no real evidence of living after we die. Isn’t there something about all souls rising on the last day? Sounds like a long wait.

Sleep or death
When you go to sleep what happens to your body? It just lies there, maybe it moves now and again, but that’s about it. And where are You? Yes You! You are not in your body. You’re gone somewhere else. Off to your dream world. Where are you when you are dreaming? You’re in the dream aren’t you?

Now try and remember a dream, any dream, preferably one that stands out. When you were in this dream you were really there. You weren’t lying on a bed somewhere you were in the dream taking an active part. Having fun or trying hard to get out of trouble if it was a nightmare.

Nightmares
Nightmares, they are something that should convince you that your dream worlds have a reality. In a nightmare you are fighting or running or fearfully involved in a situation. It is pretty God dam real when you are there. Isn’t it? And then when you wake up in a cold sweat gasping for air you say ‘I’m glad that wasn’t real’. But the next night you could be back there again.

Do you see what I’m getting at? Your dreams and nightmares are real when you are in them. When you wake up they disappear and they are no longer real. But the next night you go to sleep they become real again. So your dreams have a reality when you are in them. When we wake up our reality changes so we can deal with our physical world.

Think about this
Now back to our topic, Life after Death. What’s the difference between someone who is asleep and some one who is dead? The dead person won’t be coming back. The sleeping person will be coming back. Is this a plausible idea? – The place we go to when we sleep, is the same place we go to when we die.
